About me
Sophie Schwarz is a second-year student at the University of California, Santa Barbara, pursuing a B.A. in English with a minor in Applied Psychology. She is passionate about youth engagement and community building. Sophie has spent eight summers at Camp JCA Shalom, most recently serving as an advisor for the Counselors in Training (CITs). Beyond camp, she is passionate about volunteering with programs that support individuals in underserved communities, specifically people with diverse abilities. Her volunteer engagement with Shemesh Farms in Malibu started before her Bat Mitzvah project and continues through today. Sophie attended Cornerstone as a Fellow in 2025 and is thrilled to return this year as a Cornerstone Event Intern. When she's not studying at the UCSB library, you can find her hanging at the beach, taking long walks, trying new Santa Barbara restaurants with friends, or spending time at the UCSB Chabad.
