About me
Meir Balofsky has spent more summers at Camp Moshava Canada than most people. That might sound remarkable, but when you consider the world population is like 8 billion, it suddenly looks less impressive. A master of camp ruach, surprise skits, and perfectly timed dad jokes, Meir has turned Jewish education into both an art form and a sport worthy of broadcast on ESPN 8 the Ocho. When he’s not travelling Israel with his students at Israel XP at Bar Ilan University, Meir serves as a Cornerstone Educator, helping staff across North America discover that yes, education can be fun — and sometimes even includes costumes, rubber chickens, and profound life lessons (not always in that order). Equal parts teacher, storyteller, and unlicensed camp comedian, Meir believes that Jewish learning should make you think, laugh, and occasionally dance in unexpected places. His workshops and programs are known for blending tradition with creativity, leaving participants inspired, slightly tired, and usually singing whatever was the last Jewish music banger he heard on Spotify that morning. In his spare time, Meir can be found dreaming up new ways to make Jewish life more engaging — and occasionally explaining why his camp wardrobe includes a full body neon jumpsuit and a hot pink leather jacket with shoulder pads that he got from his mother in laws basement, that at one point was not worn ironically. True story.
